Directory structure

The files are now in the root directory and it may be better to move them into a dedicated directory. See the following comment: !5 (comment 5842)

I invite @daniele.ingrassia, @momer93, @mikelovic, @jcmariscal, and @Johannes-Hoelzel to the discussion. Perhaps most importantly, can @hoijui take a look at how it aligns or can align with the structure his tools can use?
